Lab 4 – Linode Compute Instance

Learning Outcomes

• Create and connect to a Linode compute instance.
• Compare Linode compute to AWS EC2 and GCP Compute Engine.

Tasks

1. Create a Linode instance in a region near you.
2. SSH into it:

   ssh root@YOUR_LINODE_IP

3. On the Linode, run:

   uname -a
   df -h
   free -h

   Record the output.
4. In your notes, create a 3-column comparison (AWS EC2, GCP VM, Linode) for:
   • Typical use cases
   • Regions/locations
   • Pricing style (per hour, per month, etc.)
